PGENI

PGENI (Pharmacogenetics for Every National Initiative) is a labor of love for Dr. Howard McLeod and illustrates the vision of IPIT. The major aim of PGENI is to develop a guide to what drugs are likely to work best in different populations across the globe.

There are 4 goals to the project:

Enhance the understanding of pharmacogenetics in the developing world
Help build local infrastructure for future pharmacogenetics research studies
Provide guidelines for medical prioritization for individual countries using pharmacogenetics
Promote the integration of genetic information into public health decision making policies
